Religious Studies
The Rushmere Park Academy follows 'Identities, Meanings, Values: The Agreed Syllabus', 2018-2023 from Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton.
The Religious Education syllabus equips the children with knowledge and understanding of a range of religions and beliefs. The children are asked to explore questions of their own identity: Who am I? Where do I fit in? What influences shape me? By studying RE, they discover a range of accounts of the meanings humans find in life. This in turn develops their own sense of meaning, taking consideration of how humans share many of the same values.
Children begin to articulate clearly and coherently their personal beliefs, ideas, values and experiences while respecting the right of others to differ. All members of TRPA community promote the ideas of tolerance and understanding in all aspects of life.
